ARE YOU A QUALIFIED MATHS TEACHER WITH SEN EXPERIENCE OR A KEEN INTEREST TO MOVE INTO SEN? We are currently recruiting for a Maths Co-ordinator for the mixed, special school for children aged 4 to 16. The school enrols children with a combination of significant learning and behaviour, emotional and social needs. All children have a statement defining their additional education needs and the school works very closely with local mainstream schools. All children have access to the National Curriculum. Within the subject area of Maths, pupils from Key Stages 1 to 3 enjoy numeracy lessons, encouraging them to use their mental maths and thinking skills. At Key Stage 4, the school offers the Certificate of Achievement, which builds upon skills already learned. The school is located on the outskirts of Dover with easy access by road and public transport. Ofsted (2006) stated "...an outstanding special school where pupils receive a highly effective quality of education". The successful candidate will: - Have a UK teaching qualification or equivalent - Enjoy creatively engaging pupils and be a good classroom practitioner - Contribute significantly to the Maths department Experience of SEN school environment would be an advantage. |
